Synopsis borrowed from Goodreads:

"Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have chosen me. Forever."

Luce would die for Daniel. And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . . .

Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.

Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.

Darkfallen's pained thoughts:

OK so I LOVED Fallen...

I LOVED Torment....

I Heart me some Lauren Kate...PERIOD!

But it pains me to say that Passion just fell flat for me. I mean it seriously pains me:((

While I did enjoy some parts most of it felt like a bunch of filler. Just fluff that made the story drag out, and at times bored me to sleep...literally. This is not a joke. As most of you know this girl doesn't hardly ever sleep. This girl also never takes longer then 7 hours, spread out over the course of 3 days, to finish a book. It took me 7 days to get through Passion. And to be honest here, if I wasn't already so in love with this series, and planned to read the next book, I wouldn't have finished it. But in the end my love for Mrs. Kate and the Fallen series lead me to push through this and come out on the other side.

There's what...about 420 pages in this book? Well I think I only needed about 150 of those pages. Don't get me wrong there are twists and turns. A few OWWWW moments. I even shed tears on more than one occasion. I mean when it was good..it was GOOD! But the stuff in between was brutal. I will say that the twist at the end does redeem it a bit, and I almost upped it to 3 stars, but can you really do that? Is it really fair to up it just because the cliffy at the end? Especially when the rest doesn't deserve it? In my heart the answer is NO and so it stands at 2 stars.

But please don't let this dissuade you from reading this series. This is still one of my favorite series, and I absolutely will be reading the next one. Not only that I will be flat out dying to get my hands on it. For me Passion is like that one course you just had to take in college to complete your major...you don't see why you have to do it...it bores you to death...but in the end you end up learning something you needed because you stuck it out.

I can't believe I just had to slap a big fat 2 shoes on this.....
*sniffles*

  1. A lot of people were disapointed in the last book. I was surprised myself because usually she writes a great book. Everyone has there so so in a series ...maybe the next one will rock?

  4. Oh no, What a sad thing I know what you mean though. I recently had the same thing happen Maybe they never expected a story to be a series and ran out of ideas? Great review!

  5. Well, i have just read the first book, and didn't like it at all, but you know, damn curiosity!! i want to keep reading it, because i just want to know how's the end of the story, i don't know how many books Kate is planning to do, but i mean, it's somewhat predictable, and i really don't want to hate it.

--Thanks for the review--I've been tossing and turning because I wanted to see how the series was playing out, but I'm still really angry about the first book--I liked it and enjoyed it...until I got to the end, and still didn't know any more about what was going on that when I started the book--I felt *REALLY* cheated, and so I haven't read anymore, but keep seeing lots of good reviews about the series, so I keep wondering if I should give it a try...I'm sorry you didn't enjoy (a big chunk of) it, but I'm guessing that I made the right choice, and this series just isn't for me.
