Synopsis borrowed from Goodreads:

"I won't tell anyone, Echo. I promise." Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins? His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms. "You didn't do that-did you? It was done to you?" No one ever asked that question. They stared. They whispered. They laughed. But they never asked.

"An edgy romance that pulls you in and never lets go. I was hooked!"-Gena Showalter, New York Times bestselling author of the Intertwined series

So wrong for each other...and yet so right.

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible. Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

Darkfallen's thoughts:

This was a phenominal debut novel by Katie McGarry. She really couldn't of had a better book to introduce her to the world with!

Echo and Noah have a lot more in common than they think. While Noak thinks Echo is the popular spoiled brat girl, Echo thinks Noah is just another stoner/one night stand champ. What neither of them realize is that they both have scars that they are hiding behind. And the two of them can heal each other if they would just drop the labels and see the real person that is hiding underneath.

So when I first dived into this book, it was good, but it didn't instantly WOW me. Then I don't know what happened...it snuck up on me. Pulling me in so deep that when I wasn't reading, I was anxiously waiting to open the book again. I never wanted to put it down. Even after it was over I still wanted more. I was completely immersed in the raw beauty behind the story that I couldn't look away. This story is truly beautiful and heartbreaking and just simply perfect.

I loved Echo and her determination to find out what happened that night that changed her life. She never gave up even when the memories started to take their toll on her. And they way she felt about her mother was just...*sighs* That's all I can really say about that. And don't even get me started on Noah and the length he is willing to go through to get his family back together. I cried for him more than once. He simply broke my heart to pieces. And the way him and Echo love each other is breathtaking. It's messing, and complicated, and at times a jumbled mess, but it's real. You feel it in your toes.

Overall this is a great read that will pull at your heart strings and make you long for the next book. I can't wait to read more books by Katie McGarry!!
