Bad Kitty for President

Title: Bad Kitty for President
Author: Nick Bruel
Published: January 2012
Synopsis from Goodreads:

The votes are in--it's a Bad Kitty landslide! It's time to elect a new president of the Neighborhood Cat Coalition! Who will win the election? The candidate chosen by the kitties on the right side of the street or the candidate chosed by the kitties on the left side of the street? When election time rolls around, one candidate (guess who?) will discover that she never bothered to register to vote and the entire election will be decided by a surprise, last minute absentee ballot sent by Old Kitty.

Bad Kitty is running for President!!

Well, not the kind you are thinking of.

He has no interest with running the nation... just the neighborhood.

It's that time of year again! Time to cast our ballots, wear patriotic hats, and kiss a ton of babies.

That's actually how the cats pick their nominees and Bad Kitty wants in on the action!

Actually, she just wants to run the stray cats out of the neighborhood.

My kitties can sympothize. They too hate it when stray kitties walk past thier window!! They both wouldn't mind having the power to have slingshot stray cats into the next neighborhood.

I found this book not to be as funny as the rest. While it is educational I was hoping for a bit more.

I think this would be a great book for grade-school teachers to read to their class this fall.

Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray

Title: Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray
Author: Nick Bruel
Published: 2010
Synopsis from Goodreads

Kitty’s owners are taking a week off and leaving Kitty and Puppy at home. So who’s going to watch them? Good ol’ Uncle Murray, star of the Fun Facts feature of previous Kitty books—the guy you thought knew everything about cats. Think again! It isn’t long before Uncle Murray is driven to near madness by shenanigans of epic proportions.

Bad Kitty is back!!

With Puppy and Uncle Murray..

Uncle Murray?

Who is Uncle Murray?

Uncle Murray is going to watch Kitty and Puppy while their people are gone for the week.

But where did their people go?

This book is great! Full of zany kitty action that will really get you inside a kitty's head.

It's also full of 'real kitty' facts. Like why cats are afraid of people, vacuum cleaners, and why some kitties don't like to be left alone.

This book is a chapter book and would be great for little ones who want to get into their big siblings "Wimpy Kid" books. These are just their speed.

I had a lot of fun reading this one. And I really enjoyed looking for all of Kitty's hiding spots.

I'm happy she survived Uncle Murray's visit, even though she thought he was a monster. But will she be able to survive what her people brought home?

Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty

Title: Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty
Author: Nick Bruel
Published: 2009
Synopsis from Goodreads
It's Bad Kitty's birthday, and you're invited! Bad Kitty's second illustrated novel is packed with deadpan humor, rich tidbits of cat information -- and even some suspense! Who took Kitty's presents? Why are Kitty's friends so bizzare? Readers will laugh out loud at Kitty's feline mood swings, and they'll be touched by the heartwarming visit from a surprise guest.

Happy Birthday Bad Kitty!

It's time to break out the balloons....

that Bad Kitty popped

Get out the decorations...

that Bad Kitty destroyed

Invite all the kitty guests...

that brought her lame gifts

And let's eat some cake....

that can't be chocolate because chocolate is bad for kitties.

This book was too cute!

I love the artwork and I just love Bad Kitty.

There are times when Bad Kitty reminds me of this bad kitty:

She really reminded me of that kitty in this book. I mean, she didn't even want to get up for her party!

I was also reminded of Garfield's Christmas Special.

But that's not saying this is a rip-off. That's just saying that I've seen way too many kitty related tv specials.

There was even a moment when I was reminded of "The Richest Cat in the World".

Remember that one folks?

I told you, I've seen too many kitty related tv specials ;)

Happy Birthday Bad Kitty!! Maybe next year you'll get something you really want!!

Bad Kitty Gets a Bath

Title: Bad Kitty Gets a Bath
Author: Nick Bruel
Published: 2008
Synopsis from Goodreads

BAD KITTY IS BACK (AND BADDER THAN EVER!) when she is forced to take a bath in this hysterical new illustrated how-to for young readers. The following are some items you will need for Kitty’s bath: one bathtub, plenty of water, dry towels, a suit of armor, a letter to your loved ones, clean underwear (because stressful situations can cause “accidents”), an ambulance in your driveway with the engine running, and, oh, yeah, you’ll also need Kitty…but good luck with that! Since its publication in 2005, BAD KITTY has captured the hearts of cat lovers and haters alike. This time Kitty is at her worst in this riotous how-to guide filled with bad smells, cautionary tales of horror, and hopefully by the end…some soap. The funniest of any of Kitty’s adventures, though don’t tell her that.

Kitty does NOT like baths!

I repeat: Kitty does NOT like baths!

If you kitty likes baths then you should probably have your kitty see a therapist because: Kitty does NOT like baths!

In this book, I learned the proper way to give a kitty a bath. ANd I must admit that I learned something things that I never thought of.

For example: I never thought about dressing up in a suit of armor while administering kitty's bath. Nor had I thought about updating my will. I will remember to do these the next times.

I have however given my kitty a bath without reading this book prior to our excursion. My cat Felix felt it was wise to play in the fireplace when I had my back turned. After I realized that he was tracking black paw prints all over my (now stained) white carpet, I decided that I had to give him a shower.

This book would have helped me out there because: Kitties do not like showers, either.

I also, know for a fact, that kitties also do not like hair dryers. If you want to dry your kitties hair do not use a hair dryer. The sound terrifies them and if you get it too close to their body like I did you will wind up with a dreadful surprise.

I recommend this book to all people who plan on giving their kitties a bath in the future. Laminate the pages because if Kitty drags it in the tub your directions will be lost.

Because: Kitty does not like baths!

A Bad Kitty Christmas

Title: A Bad Kitty Christmas
Author: Nick Bruel
Published: 2011
Synopsis from Goodreads

A HILARIOUS NEW HOLIDAY PICTURE BOOK ABOUT EVERYONE'S FAVORITE NAUGHTY FELINE "Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the city, not a creature was stirring...Except for BAD KITTY." A greedy Bad Kitty didn't get all the presents she wanted for Christmas, but after she goes on a Christmas caper across town and through multiple alphabets, she makes a new friend, finds an old friend, and learns the true meaning of Christmas. Or not. Nick Bruel's first picture book about Bad Kitty since the uproarious Poor Puppy in 2007 is full of rhyming mayhem... and Christmas cheer.

Merry Christmas Kitty!!

Christmas is almost here!! And Bad Kitty is not too thrilled. She can't stand the lights, the trees, the Santas, the yuletide cheese!!

Kitty just wants to terrorize. That's what kitties do. By ripping up paper and giving the wreath a good chew.

Isn't that just like a kitty?

Always getting into anything that is Christmas? My two kitties are so bad that we actually have to put up a tiny tree way up high on a shelf. We used to put up a big tree but they kept climbing it and breaking bulbs, eating tinsel, and ripping anything with fake snow on to shreds.

I kind of feel they might have read the beginning of this book as an instruction manual on how to be a proper bad kitty during the holidays.

**Note: Kitties should not read this book from Thanksgiving to New Years. This may result in some unwanted mishaps.

"A Bad Kitty Christmas" is right now my favorite Bad Kitty book. It is told similar to "Twas the Night Before Christmas" as you here how she terrorizes Christmas and then finds it in her heart to not be so bad when she meets an Old Woman who doesn't have any family nearby during the holidays.

This truly is a great Christmas book.

I think this would be perfect to be read to the little ones by Grandma and Grandpa. Or maybe if Grandma doesn't live nearby (like mine did)

The artwork was great
And they rhyming was awesome.
This Bad Kitty book
Tickled my soft spot.

Poor Puppy

Title: Poor Puppy
Author: Nick Bruel
Published: 2007
Synopsis from Goodreads

PUPPY GETS HIS OWN BOOK. Kitty's best friend stars in this zany companion to the best selling BAD KITTY. Poor, poor Puppy: Kitty isn't interested in playing, so all puppy's left with are: 1 Airplane, 2 Balls, 3 Cars, 4 Dolls... and 22 other toys. When he's done, Puppy's so tired, he takes a nap--and dreams of playing apple bobbing in Antarctica, Baseball in Brazil, Checkers in Canada, Dodgeball in Denmark... and 22 other games. Who else but Nick Bruel could combine the alphabet, a counting game, a whirlwind geography course, and a screamingly funny story... all in 40 pages?

Poor Poor Puppy!

Why doesn't Kitty want to play with you?

Does that make her a bad Kitty? Or does that just mean you need to show her how much fun she's missing?

Puppy wants to play even if Kitty doesn't want to. In this counting/alphabet book we follow Puppy on his journey through the house in search of things to play with. Along the way he finds uber tons of toys under the couch. Nice fuzzy toys with bells and mouse tails on them. This has perked Kitty's interest.

After a full day of play, Puppy needs a nap. Puppy dreams of all the places and games he would like to play with Kitty. And when he wakes up... Kitty is still there. Hooray! Does that mean Kitty wants to play?

Greta's Thoughts:
In the words of the great Poe: "AGAIN AGAIN!"

What? Were you thinking Edgar Allen?

This book was great! So vivid and creative! I love how simple minded Puppy is. He really does remind me of a dog. Of course not as superior as Bad Kitty.... but still... great!

If your little one is Team Cat or Team Dog it doesn't matter. This book will have them in stitches as Poor Puppy entertains himself while Bad Kitty teaches us what curiosity does to cats.

A great bedtime book and as for me... An extra entertaining read while eating breakfast :)

With two die-cut ñbitesî on its side, special endpapers, and a brand new piece of artwork within, this eye-catching novelty edition of a proven best-seller is sure to be . . . devoured!

BAD KITTY ROCKS!!
This book had me in stitches!

It's all about a black kitty who is hungry. But oh noes!! There's nothing in the pantry but healthy food!!

And that means...

Kitty is going to be... BAD!!

In this ALPHABET BOOK we learn how a good kitty becomes a bad kitty when her diet is threatened by the thought of eating such things as carrots, eggplants, and horseradish.

I agree with kitty... that would make for a very bad kitty.

The artwork in this book is just so super cute! IT's very visual, very well done, and totally catches the personality of a cat.

And on top of it all... this book is great for cat lovers of all ages. Even my fourteen year old son was in stitches from reading this book.

Looking for a book that will get your kid to read? Introduce them to Bad Kitty!
