Today is my 34th birthday and because of that I am going to review one of my most favorite books.... but this time... in audioform!  So, reader beware! There will be spoilers.

This review is for the audible version

Wow! Never in my life have I ever had the patience to sit through an audiobook. I don't know why. Probably because of my attentionspan... or lack there of.

Ever since Little Dude (My turtle) entered my life I have been HUNGERING for something to do while he walks through the yard. I mean... it's not like I can read a book. If I took my eyes of Little Dude (he's smaller than a silver dollar) then there's no telling where he might wind up at.

Then one day my friend told me that I should try an audiobook. I told her there wasn't any way that I could do it... but what was the harm?

I started listening to HUNGER and zomg was I hooked! I loved it! I loved the dude that told the story (even if he made Nix sound ALL ALL WRONG!). And it was so cool to listen to one of my favorite stories acted out. I couldn't wait to listen to it every day.

I then discovered I could do simple knitting and clean the house while listening to an audiobook. This just gave me a thrill. I can read while working?!! Hurrah!!

I also seemed to pay more attention with the audiobook. I started thinking about Christoph, Emma, and Lothaire's bloodline. I also started wondering where Heath was. I mean... he has to get a story. These are things I did not think about after so many paperback re-reads. 

All in all... if you are wanting to try out audiobooks then might I suggest starting with one you have read a jillion times. YOu might just find out that you are more focused than you thought you were :)

Darkfallen: This book was nothing short of hot, sexy, and amazing...but then again it's Kresley Cole so of course it would be, right?

Greta: Blessed be Kresley!! We LOVE her!! She is our goddess!! She is our overlord!! She is just BEYOND AWESOME!!

Darkfallen: But then you add Lothaire to the mix and you get a heavy does of diabolically funny in a way only Lothaire can pull off, and you just took an amazing book to a whole new level!

Greta: Well, there could have been more wolf action in this book.

Darkfallen: OMG! Really?

Greta: YES! I require it in all the I.A.D. books!

Darkfallen: You're hopeless! In this latest installment of I.A.D we have our resident bad boy, the Enemy of Old, Lothaire. In books past we have loved to hate him at every turn.

Greta: I don't know dude! He was pretty hot in the last book.

Darkfallen: How so?

Greta: When he was gonna go all dental on Declan?!! Now, that was HOT!

Darkfallen: Oh yeah... forgot about that part. So, we've gotten used to the fact that when he is involved all Hell is going to break loose, and people are going to die.

Greta: Off with their heads!

Darkfallen: But what happiness when his cold dead heart starts beating again?

Greta: Call the wedding planner?

Darfallen: That's right! Cuz, Lothaire has found his bride, oh and what a wrench she throws into his life...

Greta: Oww! I hope we get to be bridesmaids!! I wonder what you get a vampire for his wedding night? I'm thinking something he can sink his fangs into... like my neck!!!

Darkfallen: This book was everything that I wanted it to be. Lothaire may have found his bride but don't for a second think that he's gone all mushy and lovey dovey on us...on no. He is just as crazy as every. Still about 5 bats short of a cave.

Greta: You know how many bats should be in a cave?

Darkfallen: That's pretty common knowledge, Greta. Anyways, I loved being inside his head, as twisted as it may be, it was great getting to see the way he ticks. And more times than not it was down right funny! Then you pair this evil, hate driven man with a country bumpkin mortal girl/possessed by the goddess of death, and OMG you have no idea what you are getting into.

With equal parts humor, tragedy, torture, hate, and lust this book do not disappoint.

Greta: Oh oh oh oh!! And there's some NIX action!! Kids! If you want to learn the backstory of how Lothaire and Nix met.... then this book is for you!!

Darkfallen: The only thing I wish would have been done differently was the very ending. But I can't tell you why of course, or I would be giving it away...

Greta: The only thing I wish... Was there was more!!

Darkfallen's thoughts:

This book was simply amazing...but I don't really think I need to tell you that. I mean Kresley Cole wrote it, and I am starting to learn she is some sort of writing God.

Simply put if she wrote it, it is not only HOT, but awesome writing. She has a way with words, and creates some of the most unique worlds in a way that you actually feel like your there. She makes living in alternate dimensions of Hell seem real and believable. I mean...who does that?!

Now on to the characters shall we?

I loved Carrow. She's strong, brave, and has a great sense of humor. I couldn't get enough of her interaction with Malkom. Especially before he was able to speak her language. That's right Malkom is a vemon that only speaks Demonish, but Carrow doesn't speak that language, so they spend a lot of the book not being able to communicate what they were really feeling with each other. This just brought a whole new depth to the story in my opinion. In fact at times I felt like I might cry because the line blurs between where you end and Carrow begins and you just feel so damn sad that he can't understand her. Then other times I wanted to cry for Malkom for all he goes through.

Don't' even get me started on how utterly HOT Malkom is. I mean he is ripped, has piercing, tattoos, and horns! Then top that with the fact that deep down he is a sweetheart but on the surface he is a ruthless killer. You can't help but want to fix him.

If you haven't started the Immortals After Dark series yet you have no idea how much you missing out on!

Darkfallen: This is BY FAR my favorite IAD book YET!!

Greta: No, its not! Hunger Like No Other is!


Darkfallen: Uh-huh, and yet you we battled over the hunky Bowen.


Greta: I'm not at all beneath fighting for a lykae! RAWR!




Darkfallen: Bowen is so damn sexy that there were times I thought I might literally go crazy from his lustiness. Like I would maybe just hop in my car, grab the next flight to Scotland, and then immediately after landing grab the closest Scot I could get my hands on and

But no really in this book Kresley Cole has simply out done herself. Even if you were to strip away all of the sexy fun time, which would make me a sad panda, you are left a story jammed pack with action, suspense, and twists you could never see coming. The plot is simply perfect. How it unfolds layer, by layer, and just when you think you have it all figured out she hits you with another blind sided twist.


Greta: KA-BAM!! And RAWR!! And Oh snapple apples!!




Darkfallen: I couldn't read this book fast enough and I am already excited for when I'll get to read it again. It amazes me how at one minute I could be completely heartbroken for Bowen and hating Mari. To crying for Mari and needing to smack Bowen the next. It's all those emotions spun so well, then mixed with a passion that is sure to leave you breathless...along with a few other things *waggles eyebrows* that makes this book what it is. A paranormal romance that is sure to make you dive in over your head and never come up for air. Besides who needs air when they have a Lykae?


Greta: Fo shizzle my dizzle!!


Darkfallen: Oh for the love of BOB why can't Lykae be real? And why can't my hubs be bitten by one? *sighs*


Greta: Already ahead of ya

Hey Lothaire!! What do you have on under there?

Hello all!!

Are you an Immortals After Dark fan like me? Are you just bursting with anticipation to find out what Lothaire's cover is going to look like? I know I am!!

The cover is going to be revealed on Tuesday on Kresley's Facebook Page but I simply can't wait that long. What will it look like.

There's a lot of possibilities.



This is the direction I think the cover should go in.



I mean... it's Lothaire! I don't expect him to be as beefy as Aiden or as rippling as Malkom (down girl!! Ok Darkfallen! I'm ready for you to throw cold water on my like you promised!!)

I think he's going to be our leanest character but to me that's going to be super duper sexy!! I'm soo looking forward to the cover!!
