This weeks teaser is from....
Heartless(Parasol Protectorate #4) by Gail Carriger
"Alexia had found pregnancy relatively manageable, up to a point. That point having been some three weeks ago, at which juncture her natural reserves of control gave way to sentimentality. Only yesterday she had ended breakfast sobbing over fried eggs because they had looked at her funny." page 45
Ok you can't help but laugh at that!
I laughed so hard I thought I was going to cry;)
and here is one more, just to show you how 1 well written book can make you laugh till you cry...
and be full of suspense, action, and the most serious situations!
"Alexia stuck her head out the door-side window of the carriage and yelled back, 'So? Recently, you also tried to kill me. In my experience, murder could almost be an expression of affection.' It took an enormous effort to yell, and she fell back into the carriage, moaning and clutching at her stomach. She hated to admit it, even to herself, but Alexia Maccon was afraid.
Then came the noise, an eerie blessing of a sound, one that Alexia had grown to love very much over the past year or so.
Wolves.
Howling." page 337
you didn't really think I could not give you a wolfy teaser did you?

ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit today.
Fantastic teasers! I really enjoyed this book and I hope you did too. Now we just have to wait all those months till Timeless...
ReplyDeleteStill hoping to get my hands on some Gail Carriger someday! Far from my usual choices but sounds great, and a trusted friend recommended her.
ReplyDeleteTo say that Gail Carriger is FAR from my normal realm of readi material would be a unfathomable understatement. But I jump into her first book, Soulless, as more of a challenge. The challenge was to ONLY read that one book but here I am having devoured all four books in the series and I CAN'T wait forthe next one!
ReplyDeleteGreat teasers! I love Alexia. So far I've only been able to read the first book in the series! Thanks for stopping by today :)
