This is one of those books that you just know, going into it, that it is NOT going to be an easy read....but it was even harder to put it down....

Fifteen year old Kendra is falling apart inside. She was sexually abused, that much she knows. What she doesn't know is by whom, or for how long. Every time the memories start to flood back the important detail, his face seems to elude her. But the details she is left with is enough to drown her, and the way she can seem to get some relief from all the internal scars is to cut. Cutting them open until they bleed away....at least until the next time.

This book takes you through the journey of what it is like for a victim of a pedophile. It will leave you gasping and cringing. Constantly looking over your shoulder, around the corner, under the bed, anywhere for clues to who did this to this poor little girl. And once you figure it out it will leave you.....seething. Over all this book handles so many issues, issues that need to be handled, and I thank Ms. Rainfield for that. I fell in love with Kendra from the very first page. The thoughts she has are real, and true. Her torment is palatable. You will want nothing more than to hug her, love her, take her pain away.

If you, or anyone you have ever known, is dealing with sexual abuse, cutting, or homosexuality, I would say this is a must read. For parents, teachers, therapist, or victims...there is something in here to help you. Just please know that this isn't all sugar-coated, and covered with sprinkles. This is the real deal, and therefore hard to read. But then again the truth always is...that is what makes this book that much better....the truth behind it all.

That was fun!!

When I first looked at the cover for "Eat, Prey, Love" I seriously thought it was going to be all dramatic and maybe a bit stuffy but the cover looked hawt enough to read.
(Note: Greta will judge a book by its cover)

After reading a chapter I came to the realization that it was funny.

With lines like:

"Yo, dudette." A tall
man filled the doorway, grinning at Caitlyn. He was dressed in khaki pants and a
navy polo shirt. "Welcome to the hood. I'm Phineas McKinney, aka Dr. Phang."

you know you can't take this book with too much seriousness.

It was a really fun read.

It starts out with a woman named Caitlyn on her way to her nephew's birthday party. She has never met her nephew, who is turning 4, and hasn't seen her sister in six years. She comes to find out that her sister married a vampire and the party is full of weres and shifters along with vampy poos. At the party she meets a mysterious man who she just falls head over heals for.

We learn that Caitlyn's Dad cut off all ties from Shanna (the sister) because she possesses psychic abilities and Daddy wasn't able to control her (he also has psychic powers). Daddy also works for an organization that kills bad vampires.... but wouldn't you know it? Shanna's husband ALSO works for and organization that kills bad vampires but this one is run by the paranormal.

Caitlyn has an interesting ability. She isn't psychic, can't read minds, and doesn't have x-ray vision. She has the ability to speak and understand any language out there. Neat, huh?

This would be very useful for the Shanna's husband's organization. They offer Caitlyn the job and after some thought she totally agrees to join them.



Back to the Mystery Man.... His name is Carlos and is a were-panther. His race is on the verge of extinction and needs to find a mate, STAT! The only thing is... since his race is on the verge of extinction he desperately needs to find another were-panther to share a litter box with him.



But guess what? He has the hots for Caitlyn but oh RATS..... shouldn't act on them because he needs to have kittens not humans :)



Like I said... it's really fun and REALLY easy to read. I enjoyed every minute of it.

You should also know that every single Greta on the entire planet is super obsessed with their name. You really really need to know that. It's true. I know. I'm addicted to my own name. And I'm not the only one lolz. I've even done a blog post about how awesome my name is lolz.

I guess all the Gretas of the world are quite narcissistic in a way. Not with ourselves.... wait... we kind of are all in love with ourselves. But you should really blame our parents for that. You don't name a child Greta (or a German shepherd) without being ready to face some damage. That kid is going to grow up stamping her foot because she can't have a killer personalized bike plate or a most awesome monogrammed notepad... but if we find something that has those 5 little letters on it (or even a 'G'!) well... LOOK OUT!!

(and you guys wonder why Gwen Steffani lovers that letter lolz!! G babies work the same way lolz)

So, enough about how awesome my name is....

Let me tell you about this Novella.

Greta (who is awesome because she has an awesome name) is a werecat (which is also awesome).

Now, in the description, when I read she was a werecat I seriously was thinking Vincent from Beauty in the Beast. I was like "OMG!! Tre' cool!!" Butters... she's not a Beast... she's a kitty kitty meow meow. So, just like how TAY TAY turns into a wolfy woo... she turns into a house cat... OH!! A black sexy house cat who has to take pills everyday to keep her HEAT lover loo cycle in check.

That's right kids. -me-ow.

I really had no idea how horny cats were until I read this book.

Now, wait!! Before you think this book has feline humping... there isn't any of that... well, there's some humping (you can kinda tell by the cover... so I don't think that's a spoiler) but no cat on cat.

Anyways... Greta is a werecat and a hot to trot human (almost) 28 year old. She owns a book store, talks to vampires, and has to run to a sorcerer to protect her from ummm the plot of the book (well, if I told you that then it WOULD be a spoiler).

Insert Harry Potter!!

No no No no!!

What are you thinking? Harry Potter... I'm not that twisted :P

Insert Dayne!! The tall, grunge t-shirt wearing, muscular noms who is willing to alleviate Greta's sexual desires (again... look at the cover... that is NOT a spoiler. I mean check out the title... it's called KEPT... why is he keeping her? lolz)

So, the book had a bit of choppiness and kinda read like some Fan Fiction authors write but I thought it was mega fun. I loved that the storyline was quick and breezy, the characters were cool, oh oh oh!! there's a RL cat in it, and all in all it was just cute and fun.

I would totally recommend it if you are looking for an easy read.

And I would soo soo soo REC it to all the Gretas of the world. It was like reading a story that was just written for me. That was tre' cool!
